I know it has been awhile since I have posted to my blog... It has been a busy summer working at work and in our yard, and of course did a little camping as well. :) I have truly missed the theraputic feeling that quilting gives me...and was happy when my Sis in law invited me over last Thursday night to quilt. We had talked about getting together soon on our last camping trip and since then I have been perusing my quilting magazines for a project to start..even though I have several I could work on finishing..... I know I know..but starting a new one always gets you motivated ..and makes it easier to go back to the others that you weren't as excited about.... hehe.. In a previous post, you may remember that I had found some yummy red & blue fabrics. I have kept them in the back of my mind, keeping an eye out for a fun way to use them. I saw a quilt in the July/Aug 2010 issue of Quiltmaker magazine and found my pattern for these fabrics. The pattern is called Coin Collecting.. I loved the simple idea behind it and the way the colors floated on the quilt. I think it is perfect! I still have to find a backing for it and quilt it, but I managed to piece the top together today, while hubby was out golfing. I have missed quilting so much this summer..that I just couldn't quit till I had the top done. A much needed stress relieving day! This quilt went together so smooth and easy.. I recommend it to everyone for a quick quilt.

I am thinking that a Denim color fabric for the back will pull this all together and even give it a little bit of a western feel too. :) I am thinking about doing a big meandering stitch in all the white sections and just in the ditch among the colors. Will post another pix when I get it all quilted. Hopefully by then I have a better camera... Phone camera isn't too bad, but I miss my digital..took a lot better pix.
Till Next time... which hopefully won't be so long in between :)
